Nicosia, Capital of the Republic of Cyprus
A limestone inscribed stele with the legal decision versus Aristomachus, dating from 350 - 300 BCE, in the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia. This is one of the longest surviving inscriptions in the Cypro-syllabic script; it refers to a legal settlement related to the use of a field and a house by Aristomachus. It seems that he had not paid for the house and, according to the decision by the authorities, he was to pay off his debt “in accordance with the law”.
