Santiago de Cuba, the second-largest Cuban city
The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption (Catedral Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción) also called Santiago de Cuba Cathedral, on Parque Céspedes in the heart of the city. There has been a cathedral on this site since the city’s inception in the 1520s; the present cathedral, characterised by its two neoclassical towers, was completed in 1922.
