Fortress across Havana Harbour
View along the Canal de Entrada from Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro, a fortress guarding the entrance to Havana Bay. The fort fell in 1762, when the British expedition against Cuba under Lord Albemarle landed in Cojimar to the east of Havana and attacked it from its landward side. When the British handed the island back in 1763 to Spain, the Castillo de San Carlos de la Cabaña, seen in the distance, was built to prevent this from happening again.
