Statue of José Martí

The 1905 marble statue of José Martí, the first of thousands to be erected in Cuba, was raised on the 10th anniversary of the independence hero's death in Parque Central, opposite Hotel Inglaterra, Havana’s oldest hotel that first opened its doors in 1856 on the site of a popular bar called El Louvre.
