Habana Vieja, Old Havana
Entrance to the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, one of the oldest existing forts in the Americas, now housing the Museo de Navegación, with interesting displays on the history of the fort and the Old Town and its connections with the erstwhile Spanish Empire. It was built between 1558 and 1577 on the site of an earlier fort destroyed by the French corsair Jacques de Sores and his privateers in 1555.
