Cienfuegos, the Pearl of the South
The Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción on the north west side of the Parque José Martí in Cienfuegos. The original building was opened in 1833 at the time of the Spanish colonisation, with expansions and improvements in 1850, between 1852 and 1861, between 1866 and 1869 and between 1869 and 1875. It was declared a cathedral in 1903.
