Tarabuco, the home of Yampara culture and Pujllay
Men and boys dance in the yearly Pujllay festival in the village of Tarabuco, the heart of “Yampara” culture. Their “Montero” headdress resembles the helmets of the Spanish conquistadors and they stamp their feet, with the “gallu-gallus”, their spurs, making rhythmic jangling noises.
