Tarabuco, the home of Yampara culture and Pujllay

Indian flute, Pujllay

Long flutes accompany dancers in the yearly Pujllay festival in the village of Tarabuco. Men and women dance in traditional costumes; the men wear the “Montero” headdress, resembling Spanish helmets, commemorating a victory the Indians won in a battle with Spaniards, long ago.
