Girls from Djarragun College perform dances from Murray Island in the Torres Strait, accompanied by singing and drumming during a performance at the Sound Shell in Cairns. They perform a “Silent Dance”, accompanied by just drumming, followed by a dance accompanied by chanting in Miriam, the language of Mer or Murray Island; this is followed by a dance with singing, after which the girls march off the stage.
