Senior boys and girls from Djarragun College perform dances from Murray Island in the Torres Strait, accompanied by singing and drumming during the awards ceremonies at the school. They march onto the stage and the space in front of it, watched by the younger children and perform two stick dances. The first is accompanied by traditional chanting, the next by singing, with the snake skin covered drums providing the beat. At the end they march off, to the applause and whistles of an enthusiastic audience.
