Aboriginal Marndiwala Initiation Ceremonies in Borroloola
Young Yanyuwa boys “daru” or initiates, armed with spears with the men and boys who will dance for them at their ceremony in Borroloola, near the south coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory. The dancers are painted with clay and carry gumleaves.
