Tirana, Albania’s capital
The Great Mosque of Tirana (Xhamia e Madhe e Tiranës) or Namazgâh Mosque (Xhamia e Namazgjasë): the largest mosque in the Balkans. It is next to the Parliament building at the intersection of Rruga George W. Bush and Unaza. The mosque has four minarets, each 50 metres high, and the central dome is 30 metres high. It has a capacity for up to 4,500 people. Financing for the mosque's construction comes from Diyanet, the main state-run Turkish Muslim organisation.
