Kruja, the citadel of Skanderbeg

Skanderbeg sculpture

A large sculpture, depicting Skanderbeg and his warriors in the entrance to the Skanderbeg Museum at the Kruja citadel, the stronghold of the national hero Skanderbeg (Skënderbeu or George Kastrioti) between 1443 and 1468 in his struggle against the Turks. The museum was built at the end of the 1970s and inaugurated on 1 November 1982.
