Statue of Bajram Curri

Bajram Curri took a leading role in the late 19th century nationalist movements. He fought against the Greeks in 1917, defeated insurgents planning a Pro-Serbian coup and fought the Italian occupation. He was gunned down by King Zog's police. His statue stands in the town that now bears his name, in the north east of the country.
